Identify Shared Services

We are beginning to share costs with neighboring towns. I will work to implement more of these to reduce our operational costs.
It is cheaper to have shared services with the Board of Ed, such as for maintenance and security. This would free up budgets at the Board of Ed to improve the school system and encourage the regularization of more teachers. The BOE gets 68% of the total revenue collected by the Township whereas the Township, for its own needs, gets to keep only 13%. The remaining 19% is given to Monmouth County.
The School Security plan just approved by the TC and accepted by the Board is a shared service plan. The township pays up to 50% of the cost in 5 years, starting with 10% in the first year and over 5 years pays up to the 50% of the total $300,000 budget for security for the school.
